The length of the NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award depends on your chosen method of study.
When studied in-house, the course takes 3 days to complete.
When studied by e-Learning, the course can be completed in 24 hours. This includes 21 hours of content and a 3 hour assessment.
The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award is comprised of one unit, HSA1: Workplace safety foundations, which covers the four following elements:
Element 1: Why and how you manage health and safety
Element 2: Dealing with common workplace hazards
Element 3: Stopping incidents and ill-health before they happen
Element 4: Learning from incidents

Once you have completed The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award you will be asked to complete a workplace review which:

Selects the most important issue for improvement
This assessment is designed to test your ability to put into practice what you have learnt and, as it is carried out in the workplace, can add instant value to your organisation. Once you have achieved a pass, a qualification parchment will be issued within 20 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.
After completing the NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award, many students progress to the NEBOSH International General Certificate to build on their health and safety knowledge. The qualification covers all the fundamentals of occupational health and safety, making it the perfect choice if you're considering a career in the industry.
When and how will I receive my NEBOSH results?
Results are notified by NEBOSH after completing the course. NEBOSH send out the results 10-12 weeks after the exams. Your certificates will arrive after the results have been announced.
What level is the NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award?
The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award is a level 2 qualification.
What is the difference between NEBOSH Awards and Certificates?
NEBOSH Awards are level 2 qualifications, whereas NEBOSH Certificates are level 3 qualifications. NEBOSH Certificates are therefore more detailed and provide the knowledge needed for students to progress to level 6 qualifications such as the NEBOSH Diploma.
